Sheet 11: Selected design developed - form & function (3D CAD)

You must make final decisions about the your design.  The designing at this point should be done using 3D modelling software (such as SketchUp).  It is very important to remember to contruct your design by using ‘components’.  This will make the drawing much more useful (and will ultimately save you a lot of time).  On this sheet you should include:
  • A number of views of your final design (which should be clearly derived from one or more of the previous designs)
  • Focus mostly on showing the overall shape (which is called ‘form’ in 3D)
  • Include enough detail to clearly show how the design will work (function)
  • Add lots of annotation to explain why you have decided on this final form for your design - this should keep referring to your Specification (the ACCESSFM criteria)

*When using images from Sketchup, it is more effective to set a white background and remove the axis before exporting as a 2D graphic.
